Dear Parents

The TLCs have gone very well over the last few weeks; it’s great to see the children excited about sharing their learning and it really helps them to build their confidence.

Cross Country

The Bridgewater cross country team had a successful Wednesday afternoon at a very muddy Abington Park. There was a huge turnout of schools and spectators making for a great atmosphere.  The children gave their all both as competitors and as spectators by cheering on all the runners from the different schools and encouraging them.

We enjoyed lots of success with Dylan and Malachy coming 1st and 2nd in the Y6 boys race respectively showing grit and determination; as did Katy M who came 4th and Katy T who was in 6th place in the Y4 girls race.  Tom came 4th in the Y5 boys race with Hattie coming 5th and Jolie 9th in the girls Y5 race. All 38 children placed very well and they tried very hard, persevering to achieve their best and giving us the following overall team positions.

Year 4 girls    -           3rd

Year 4 boys   -           10th

Year 5 girls    -           1st

Year 5 boys   -           2nd

Year 6 girls    -           13th

Year 6 boys   -           2nd

Well done, everyone.

It was also great to see our past students from NSB, Peter and Archie running as pacesetters for the races.

Thank you to Mr Shipley for organising the event and Mr Fox for training them alongside a lot of fit and healthy staff.

You can find pictures from the event on my blog: https://www.bridgewaterprimary.net/index.php/our-blogs/hb

Parent View

Thank you to those parents who have been on to the Ofsted Parent View as we are starting to build a picture; it is very quick and easy once you have registered.  The link is: https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/ and Mrs White has also put the link on our Facebook page.

Easter Egg Bingo

We hope you have bought your tickets for the ‘Easter Egg Bingo’ next Saturday, 24 March.  It’s lots of the fun for our children and their families.

Thank you to 3 Rennie Mackintosh for sharing their ‘Amazing Explorer’ theme in their class assembly. They told us many facts about explorers and I have loved seeing them outside building wigwams, making fires and soup whilst huddling around the fire.  I was also very impressed with the bags they have made out of felt, ready to take on their trip to Irchester Country Park; check out the great pictures on their blog.

Have a lovely weekend.

Alison Harvey
