Dear Parents

Governor Drop - In

There is a governor drop-in session this afternoon from 3pm – 3.45pm, where you can catch up and share any thoughts or ideas.

Fantastic Football

Our football team did us proud this week winning against Barry Road with great teamwork and sportsmanship.  It was lovely to welcome supporters from both schools for this local community event.  Thank you to Miss Peal and Miss Ottaway for training the team and writing this excellent match report:

Bridgewater hosted Barry Road on Thursday and we won 6-2 - an incredible debut match!

We just wanted to say thanks to Leo for his continuous motivation and encouragement. Well done Ashley, Rhys and Jacob for great saves throughout! Orlaith, Vyan, Lola, Kitty and Summer you consistently had our back post covered at all times. Nathaniel, Jerry, Kai, Jude and Stefan did a great job of keeping the match moving and showed great teamwork. Nellie, Damien and Noah we could not believe what we were seeing, you were incredible up front. Harry and Thomas your attitudes not just for our first match but for every single training session too - you kept up our team spirits throughout - Thankyou.

As coaches and teachers we couldn't have been prouder of you all.

Well done.

What a lovely match report – it says it all.

Dangerous Driving

I was in the drop off zone this morning and witnessed a red car driving dangerously at speed around the circle with no visible blue disability badge.  Can we remind you to display your blue badges if using the drop off zone at peak times and drive with due care and attention.

We are also being inundated with complaints from local residents and parents regarding parking issues at drop off and pick up time. These vary from parking on double yellow lines, blocking residents driveways, double parking on Milverton Crescent blocking access and parking on residents driveways. If you do see any instances of this nature, please can we ask that you report illegal parking such as parking on zig zag lines, dangerous parking or parking that would prevent emergency vehicle access to the police via:

Nuisance parking and abandoned vehicles | Northamptonshire Police (northants.police.uk)

Advice regarding any other parking issues can also be found via this link.

Children’s Lunches

Please can you choose the children’s lunches with them, as many children are saying they don’t like the option that’s been ordered and want the other one resulting in quite a lot of waste.  Thank you.

STEM Club

Mr Kennedy and Mr Ebsworth’s STEM Club reached a crescendo this week after several weeks of designing strong structures and editing and improving, they were given the ultimate challenge.  The final winner was a tall well-balanced structure that could hold a heavy boccia ball for 30 seconds – well done to all the children but especially Jack and Olivia in KS1 and Eve and Isobel in KS2 - very impressive.  I hope they are inspired to be future engineers!

Have a lovely weekend

Alison Harvey
