Dear Parents

Northampton Town Carnival – A Spectacle Awaits!

We hope to see lots of faces at the Carnival tomorrow starting at 2pm. Come and give us a wave and see our amazing Earth, Wind and Fire themed float alongside the whole town carnival parade.

Phonics in Year 1 and Year 2

The Year 1 and Year 2 Team were very impressed with the children who took part in the government checks. The children approached them confidently and were very well prepared by school and home.

Multiplication Checks in Year 4

Year 4 similarly have been practising hard at home and school and were cool, calm and collected as they completed the checks online with just 6 seconds for each answer! Well done to every child who has made great progress this year, as they can confidently tackle maths problems with fluency armed with their knowledge of multiplication times tables.

Humanities Learning Walk

We enjoyed visiting all the classes with our School Improvement Partner this week where we saw well planned lessons and beautiful work presented in the children’s books. They could talk confidently about their learning and make connections that have improved their knowledge and understanding in history and geography.  We have some excellent map readers and well done Elwood who zoomed in on the A45 spotting it straight away – he won’t get lost on a long drive!

A Visiting School

Thank you to Mrs Wise, Mrs Copeman and Miss Lee who hosted a local school that visited this week to learn about our curriculum and smooth transitions from year group to year group as well as look at the well organised learning environment with all the children’s fabulous work.

Parking

Please be polite and courteous when parking in the local area. We are advising local residents to report any incidents to the police that concern them. Thankyou.

Everdon Field Centre

Thank you to the staff at Everdon Field Centre and the Year 3 team for providing all three classes with a wonderful learning experience including a river study. I wonder if any of our parents remember trips to Everdon? Happy memories.

Air Ambulance

Don’t forget to dress the children with a splash of yellow on Monday to celebrate the amazing work of the Air Ambulance crews who have saved many local lives. Our carnival collection will go towards this charity, and you can also make online donations via our JustGiving page

Tag Rugby Finals

A few Year 6 children had an unforgettable experience attending a rugby competition at Franklin’s Gardens. As part of the day, they enjoyed an exciting tour of the Cinch Stadium and even had the opportunity to play on the pitch! Throughout the event, our pupils demonstrated fantastic determination, resilience, and sportsmanship – a true credit to our school. Well done, Year 6!

Spirit of the Games

This morning, Year 6 enjoyed a fantastic trip to Abington Park to take part in the 'Spirit of the Games' event. Despite the hot weather, the children showed great teamwork throughout the morning. They enthusiastically took part in a range of sports, including volleyball, rugby, and athletics.

Have a great weekend

Alison Harvey
