Dear Parents

Transition Day

The children were very excited when they came through the gate on Tuesday and they all looked like they were enjoying the shuffle up to their new year group when I visited the rooms.  The teachers had a lovely time getting to know the children and are looking forward to the new academic year.

Fun Day

It was lovely to welcome our new intake into Reception for their Fun Day and observe them explore their new surroundings with confidence and make new friends. 

Year 6 Transition Days

Of course, most of our Year 6 children were able to visit their new secondary schools this week and had a good time meeting new friends and trying new activities.  It is sad for us to see them go but we are happy for them and know that they are well prepared for their next step and wish them all well.

Staff Changes

We say goodbye this term to Mrs Hsu, who has been an amazing Spanish teacher at our school, organising a range of exciting opportunities throughout the school across many languages and cultures. She is moving into a role at the Foreign Office and we wish her well with her change of direction!  We are pleased to welcome Mrs D’Agostino, who is joining us to teach Spanish and we’re looking forward to her joining us in September.

It is also a goodbye to Mrs Cressey, who is changing from education to pursue a career in Pharmacy. She has worked at Bridgewater throughout the school as a HLTA and SEND support, actively involving herself in the Running Club and all the children’s activities; we will miss her kindness, hard work and enthusiasm, but we know she will be a great addition to NGH.

MUGA

Edspace have quickly and efficiently built our amazing MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) and we are so pleased that the current Year 6 children will get to try it out before they go.  Mrs Atlas has tried it out and tells us that it is good and bouncy – oh, and it’s a beautiful bright blue!

Shrek

We are looking forward to the Year 6 production of Shrek next week when they will perform for the whole school and the Year 6 families.  From the little snippets that I’ve seen it’s going to be very special.
