Dear Parents

Parking

A local resident has written on behalf of all the local residents about parking around the school.  Once again, I thank the vast majority for parking with due care and consideration, but I am frustrated and shocked in the few who are inconsiderate, drive and park dangerously and anyone who is rude or abusive.

Thank you to the parents and family members who park safely away from the school and walk in or arrive early and park safely and considerately.

A Local Resident

“Yet again, I am having to complain to you about the inconsiderate parking displayed by the parents of your students.

Every day they make living here very difficult with their lack of common sense and consideration for others.

We arrived home yesterday to find ourselves and our neighbour completely unable to get to our houses and park on our drives due to parents double parking and blocking our cul-de-sac.

Somebody called the police who on arrival tried to reason with the parents and explain what they had done wrong but they were not apologetic in any way.

These parents caused huge inconvenience for us yesterday and have done for years, even parking on our private driveways.”

Governor Drop In - 22nd November 2023

There is a governor drop in session for parents and families planned for 22nd November from 3pm.

Anti-Bullying Week

There have been activities around the school linked with Gratitude this week and the children’s thoughts will be gathered in a whole school display sharing their reflections.

Protected Characteristics

Protected Characteristics are written in law, part of the public sector equality duty and part of the school curriculum for a more understanding society where every person is valued for who they are. We teach the children the characteristics regularly in assemblies and PSHE and I wanted to remind you of them below.  We take an open-minded children friendly and age-appropriate approach ensuring that they have time to consider others’ viewpoints.

  • age
  • disability
  • gender reassignment
  • marriage and civil partnership
  • pregnancy and maternity
  • race
  • religion or belief
  • sex
  • sexual orientation

School Ambassadors

Thank you, to our polite, well-mannered school ambassadors who showed parents around school during Parents Evening.  It was lovely to see everyone during both evenings and thank you to Mrs Tasher who ran the very popular ‘Travelling Book Fair’ in the library.

Mrs Tasher has asked that we share the following message:

Thank you to all of you who came to support this years Travelling Book Fair. It was lovely to see everyone and with your generosity we took an amazing £1280 which will give us £300 to spend on new books for the library.

Well done to our Design a Book cover competition winners; Beatrice Year 6, Jivika Year 5, Matthew W Year 1, Rosa Year 1 and Harry S in Reception.

Year 1 & 2 Football

A big well done to our Year 1 & 2 football team who beat 6 schools without conceding a goal to win a competition.

Children in Need MUFTI Day

It has been great to see all the children in their spots today and thank you for your generous donations to Children in Need so far. We have raised £297 plus £53.26 in Gift Aid via our JustGiving page. If you would still like to donate you can do this via:
