Diwali Parade 2019

The Northampton Diwali Parade was bigger and better than ever this year.

We started the evening by lighting a candle in memory of Mrs Biddle, who attended the parade every year.  Mrs Biddle’s family were there as special guests  and we were treated to a show in the market square; it was a special experience.

We then joined Y3 and their families for the Parade which set off promptly at 6pm.  As dusk fell the illuminated lanterns looked beautiful with each school having a different style of lantern - you can see our tulips in the pictures below.

We all had so much fun as we were just in front of the elephant animation and the drummers and our Dads proved to have incredible energy and danced along to the beat of the drums.  We were just behind the incredible monkey god, Hanuman which was carried on an adults shoulders with another adult moving his arms.  All the characters were represented from the story of Rama and Sita as huge animatons.

Thank you to all the staff and families who joined us in the huge community celebration.
