The End of Our First Term.
During the last week at school the early years children were very busy indeed!
We made Christmas cards for our families, using the shapes we had learnt about in maths.
After writing messages inside in our best handwriting we walked to the post box to send it as a surprise! We made sure that we stuck a stamp on the front before sending them off.
In maths we learnt about regular patterns and made decorations for the tree in our home corner. It was important to make sure that we stuck to the same pattern throughout and sometimes we had to go back and make changes. Soon the tree was weighed down with our colourful decorations.
The second to last day was enormous fun because we were allowed to brng in our favourite board games from home and share them with our friends. It was good to practice explaining the different rules for the games and also to be patient and share. We were also careful to make sure none of the pieces got lost!
We also enjoyed a little disco and wore our party clothes to school. The teachers played our favourite songs for us to dance to. Some of the teachers even played the songs they enjoyed when they were at school! We 'Danced our socks off,' and were very tired by snack time!
On the last day the teachers put on a panto which was a mixture of fairytales and 'Strictly come Dancing!' Our favourite parts included shouting "BOOOO!!!" at the Wicked Queen, the Seven Dwarves' dance audition and the hilarious Strictly Judges. We laughed and laughed!
It's been a wonderful end to our first term at school and we are already looking forward to more fun as we learn in the New Year.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Everyone!
