World Book Day

Year 1 had a wonderful day exploring and recommending their favourite stories and books. It was lovely to see a range of different stories and how passionate the children were about their own enjoyment of reading.

In the morning, year 1 were split up! Ten children from each class joined together to share a story written by Oliver Jeffers. Each group shared a different story and once back into their own classes they had to share what they had learned and say whether they would recommend the story and why.

We then received a visit from our twinned classes, where they were able to share their books with a different year group. They read some of their favourite parts of the story. It was amazing to see how enthused and engaged the children were and inspired to read each other stories.

1 Kandinsky, ended the day with their own story telling of ‘The Enormous Turnip’. Maya had brought in some amazing props from home to share and help us act out the story. Thank you Maya!
