Early Years welcomed a very special visitor to the unit.
Mr Hall came to talk to us about how he keeps bees.
He showed us what the inside of a hive looks like, and taught us about the different roles of the various kinds of bees.
Mr Hall showed us how he looks after his bees and how he collects the delicious honey.
We even tried on a beekeeper’s costume and saw the equipment he uses, up close.
Mr Hall answered many of our questions about bees but most of all he taught us that bees are our friends and we mustn’t be afraid of them.
As a special treat we enjoyed some of the honey which is made locally from Mr Hall’s bees.
We feel so lucky to have met a real life beekeeper! Thank you to Mr and Mrs Hall for giving us an insight into the workings of a hive and how bees are so important to all of humankind!
