This week in Early Years we have been learning lots of new letters.
We have looked at the name, sound and formations of the letters s, a, t, p, i, m, n and o. We have also learnt ditties to help us remember the correct formation.
We have also been getting our bodies ready for writing by doing exercises such as planking, balancing, stretching, sweeping and ‘painting’ the fences outside.
We have been making our writing fingers strong by tackling jobs using only three fingers.
We have looked at simple words using these letters and will be practising finding more using the phonics puzzles in class next week.
It’s great to see the children writing these letters and words independently. Keep it up!
