Science Week 2022

This year, the theme for British Science Week is 'Growth'! Our week began with watching some live Science sessions on the NFU website. They have been linked below if you would like to rewatch any.

https://encounteredu.com/live-lessons

The first live session we watched was on life cycles. We found our where lambs and calves come from and the different stages they go through during their lives. We even saw some footage of live animal birth!

Today's live lesson was all about climate change. We met a dairy farmer and animal science student who is finding out new ways of reducing methane emissions of her cows, in other words, how much her cows burp!

We learnt that the best way that we can support climate change positively, is by thinking about how much food we waste. We learnt that 25% of the food that we eat is wasted!

What facts can you remember from this weeks live Science lessons? Comment below with your answers.
