Forest School

Following the Erasmus trip last year, staff had a fantastic training day on Monday led by Mrs Wise and Mrs Beirne who inspired us to teach sessions outdoors.  The very next day Reception classes and Year 2 were outside using our amazing forest school equipment and resources, bought for us by the Friends of Bridgewater.  Research shows how beneficial it is for the children to spend more time outdoors developing resilience, self-esteem, confidence, problem solving cooperation etc.

Parent Evenings

After the Parent Survey last year, the responses said that parents would like a face-to-face meeting with the teacher and without the child present, so we have organised the first meeting around your requests.

Any children that you need to bring will need supervising for safeguarding reasons.  They are welcome to wait outside the classroom during the meeting and class teachers will leave some books out for them to read. 

The Spring meetings will be run as we did in the past as Learning Conferences where the children attend alongside yourselves. 

We sent the Parent Survey out in response to the Ofsted parent view which shows that parents wanted more detail about how their children are getting on in their learning. 

There are not enough Bridgewater Parent responses currently on the Ofsted Parent View to be representative of the whole community.   If you haven’t had a chance to respond we would encourage you to go on and have your say.

Halloween Disco

A huge thank you to our Friends who organised a lovely evening of discos for the children.  Miss Morley was outstanding as our DJ and all the children looked fantastic in their spooky costumes – some were unrecognisable! Thank you to all the Friends and staff who volunteered their time to make sure everyone was safe and had a great time.
