Dear Parents

We are looking forward to the return of nearly 200 pupils and have risk assessments and relevant information for the re-opening of school on 1 June in today’s newsletter. 

We will keep linking with children in Years 2 - 5 on Seesaw and have a reduced version in the year groups who are returning.  Huge admiration for all of you juggling work, home learning and other commitments as we adjust to the next steps with the potential partial reopening of the school on 1 June.

The Bridgewater Primary School COVID-19 Risk Assessment Plan is attached below.  It is a working document and will adjust as Government advice and numbers change.  I’ve attached the one way system map, as it will help you understand how the drop off and pick up will work together with the play time rota so you can see that all the bubbles are as distanced as possible.  There is also attached a list of FAQs.

Bubbles

I never thought we would use the word bubbles so much!  Our approach has adjusted as we have thought about what is best for the children alongside reducing risks.

With Year 6 the whole cohort have been invited back full time and are in 6 separate rooms with 15 or less children and a teacher or HLTA.

Early Years are in separate bubbles in groups of less than 5 children with a known adult on a two-week rota.   We are keeping the key worker children in this year group in separate bubbles with their own staff in close proximity to their year group so that they receive the same learning and teaching.

Year 1 are also in bubbles of no more than 15 and the keyworker children for this year group will also be situated nearby accessing the same learning.

Nursery are in small bubbles with a known member of staff in separate areas within the nursery unit.

Play times and lunch times have a rota and children are in zoned areas on the map attached with their constant member of staff.

Walking to school

Alongside the government, we are encouraging everyone to walk to school where possible.  If you have to use a car, please ensure it is wiped down every day.

The drop off zone is closed to parents to reduce risk and to allow social distancing for parents exiting the school premises.  If you have a blue badge and there is no other way you can remain outside the school please contact the office.  Children and adults will be flowing around the car park on foot and as such, it will increase risk to have any cars in the drop off zone between 8.30 - 9.15 am and 2.45 – 3.30 pm.  If it is essential then you will need to drop off in the drop off zone after 9.15 am.
