Dear Parents

We have been given the ‘go ahead’ by the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, to open a phased return to Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 on Monday 1 June.  We are looking forward to re-connecting with the children and seeing their faces in reality once again.  The team will endeavour to keep them as safe and relaxed as possible as per our risk assessment details.

We are all thinking in bubbles now ensuring that staff and children stay with a bubble and do not cross bubbles, as far as possible.

Now that we are moving to the next phase, it seems practical that the key worker children in Year’s 2 to 5 remain in school full time, rather than the odd days.  We can then establish our groups and there will be as little movement of children and staff as far as possible.  Please note that the keyworker children will need to continue to come into school through the hall as they have been doing these past few weeks.

We certainly haven’t forgotten the children still at home and will be responding to Seesaw for Years 2 to 5 and consolidating learning in Nursery, Reception and Year 1.  As you know Seesaw will be light touch for any children in these year groups who are not returning to school as the teachers will not be able to do both jobs now and the main  focus will be on school.  The basics will be there alongside some excellent national resources and family support.

The success we all make of this first part of the phased return, linked to what happens across the country, will determine whether we open further year groups.  We sincerely hope that there will not be a spike and that we will carefully manage the return of more and more children.

Study your maps and rotas everyone so that we can circulate around the buildings observing social distancing on Monday, when we will see some of you very soon

Take care
