It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

This week has been lovely in the nursery. The children have been getting very busy.

We have had lots of chats this week amongst us about celebrations and have been discussing what our favourites are and why we like them. The children have brought up all sorts of celebrations and we ended up taking a vote one morning over which one we preferred - it was a tight call between Christmas and Halloween.  Decorations have been a popular option, but presents and chocolates have been spoken about a lot over the past week. We have some very excited children at the moment.

They have loved exploring the Christmas decorations that we have started to put up around the nursery and they've been extremely busy in the home corner decorating their own Christmas tree. They've made it look great and have been proud every time they've decorated it.

We also think you will have some helpers this year when it comes to wrapping presents, as they have had great fun wrapping different objects and putting them around the tree.

We have been exploring food a lot this week and it has been great to see the children having fun around it as well as being 'have a go heroes' and trying new foods. They have helped, peel, chop and cook the vegetables as well as trying them, selling them in our role play shop and using them as props in our malleable area as dinosaur food.

This week we have also had fun exploring shapes and have enjoyed listening to the story ' Walter's Wonderful Web'. We have been exploring shapes in our environment and have been comparing similarities and differences between 2d shapes.

Next week is TLC's so we look forward to catching up with you then.
