On Friday the Early Years children experienced their first P.E lesson.
First we discussed the ‘Steps to Success’ as a class so that everyone understood the expectations. Next we found a space to get ready and undressed ourselves, taking care not to spread our belongings out too much. We made sure to put our uniform in the bag so that it didn’t get mixed up with our friends‘ clothes. Once we were ready, we lined up to go outside. We practiced walking safely in a line, keeping our places as we walked across the field.
After some stretching to make sure our bodies were warmed up, we practiced our listening skills by following our teachers’ instructions and experimented with different ways of moving such as running, jumping, skipping, hopping and galloping. We practiced balancing on one leg at a time and did our best to control any wobbles!
It was lovely to experience the open space of the field in the fresh air. After a very busy first week of full time school days, we are sure the children slept well that evening!
We can’t wait for our next P.E lesson!
