The children were very excited this week to wear the new PEkits for the first time for National Fitness day!

They learnt all about what fitness means and why it is so important to live healthy, active lives. The children shared their favourite types of exercise which included, running, skipping, basketball, football, trampolining, dancing and much more!

The children took part in lots of physical activities throughout the day, including a mini fitness and balance challenge, dance and yoga as well as accessing all of our amazing physical development resources across the Early Years unit.

All the children were also sent home with a resource pack for the fitness game happening all across Northampton , called 'Beat the street'. Included in the pack were: 2 maps, a parent letter, and a key fob. The aim of the game is to walk, jog, or roll across the town as much as possible and collect points by scanning the key fob at each station around the town. For more information, please go to www.beatthestreet.me or speak to Miss Baxter.
