Gaudi style mosaics

In 5 Gaudi this term, we have been recreating mosaics in the style of our class artist, Antoni Gaudi.

We learnt some interesting things about his life - for example about the criticism he faced and about the obscure places in Barcelona that you can find his architecture!

The children worked in groups to design a mosaic masterpiece inspired by nature - like Gaudi was. We then carefully laid out the mosaics we'd need, cut them to size, and glued them down. The next stage was to put grout in between each tile to secure them into place, then clean the tiles to make sure the colours came through.

Everybody made fantastic mosaic masterpieces!
