Welcome to Bridgewater's Nursery

Our Nursery reflects the nurturing and supportive learning environment of our current Early Years provision where your child will grow and thrive.

Our Busy Blog

The nursery team consists of Mrs Hollingsworth (Nursery Teacher), Mrs Abraham (Early Years Practitioner), Miss Anglin (Early Years Teaching Assistant) and Miss Essen (Early Years Practitioner). All members of the team work hard to offer a nurturing and supportive learning environment for the children to thrive and grow. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum with an emphasis on promoting the characteristics of effective learning. This approach fosters a love of learning and provides challenge linked closely to developmentally age appropriate experience.  We strive to create an environment where the children feel confident to explore and discover new things. As a Nursery, we understand that all children are unique and understand the importance of following their individual interests.

Getting to know Nursery...

Welcome back and hello to all the new starters. What a busy first week it has been. We have had lots of fun in Nursery and it has been lovely getting to know some of you.

The children have thoroughly enjoyed getting messy this week. We have been exploring different colours and what happens when we mix them together. We have been using different mediums to achieve this, like paint, water colours, natural dyes, food colouring and powder paints.

The small world area has also been very popular. The children have been washing all of the dinosaurs, making sure they are nice and clean. It has been lovely to see the children playing alongside each other.

Lastly, the children have been using their balancing skills to complete an obstacle course. This has included stepping over the ‘spider’s web’ to get to the balancing planks and then the children had to climb onto the crates and carefully jump off!
