Dear Parents
You can find plenty of photos on ‘X’ or Facebook related to all the recent activities.
New Playground
We came into school on Monday to find our new bouncy playground surface finished. By playtime Year 1 were trying it out which was fun, and it looks so much better without the old wooden log edging. Our thanks go to Steve and the Edspace team for working on it so quickly.
Year 6 Soiree
This was very special as the children were so mature and sounded fabulous. Lily-Rose signed all the songs and taught the whole year group how to sign ‘We Wish you a Merry Christmas’ so that it was inclusive for all. Thank you to Mrs Hallett, Miss Holmes and the Year 6 team.
Year 3 Church Performance
Reverend Tracy welcomed Year 3 and all their families to the church of St Peter and St Paul in Abington Park. It is a privilege every year to hear the children perform in such beautiful surroundings. The performance was exceptional, and it was a lovely evening. Thank you, Mrs Douglas and the team.
Nursery Sing-Along
Well, this was lovely, with the children all dressed up and singing with enthusiasm. Mrs Gilkes and the Nursery team worked hard with the children to get such amazing results. We smiled as we watched sleigh bells jingle, the elves dancing along to the music and the Santas got stuck up the chimney! Mary, Joseph and the shepherds arrived safely in Bethlehem with baby Jesus in a manger. Absolutely gorgeous.
Reception Open Morning
The Reception team led by Mrs Wise set up a variety of activities for physical development in the unit for the parents to share with their children on Tuesday morning. It was great to see everyone fully engaged and learning a little bit about the children’s school day and experiencing the importance of developing physical strength and coordination through a wide range of activities.
Panto
Thank you to the ‘Friends’, who funded a surprise panto for the children on Wednesday morning. They were entertained by the Hobgoblin Theatre Company who performed ‘The Three Musketeers’!
Parking
If you have an issue related to parking, please report it to the police because any incidents beyond the school gates are outside the school’s jurisdiction. When I am outside, my motivation is to keep our families safe and not to manage disputes. Please can the silver car that parks all four wheels on the kerb on Exmoor Close obstructing a local resident’s drive and also nearly hitting someone this morning park further away where it is safer.
Christmas Dinner
Don’t forget to sign up the children for Chef Heather and the TnS team’s delicious Christmas dinner next Tuesday.
Have a lovely weekend.
