Dear Parents
Performing at St Christophers Care Home
We were warmly welcomed to the care home for the choir to sing their latest songs and the school band to perform. Thank you, Miss Hodges, Mrs Washington, Mr Fountain for training the band and everyone at the care home. It was a very special afternoon where the children really enjoyed meeting the residents and everyone had a lovely afternoon. There are some heartwarming pictures on X and Facebook.
PCSO Visit
Early Years were treated to a visit from our local PCSOs with their police car when they learnt all about their job role. The lights flashed and sirens blared which was all very exciting!
Labels in Clothes
Can we remind you to check that all clothes are labelled please. Early Years did a great job getting changed today but some were worried because they couldn’t locate their clothes because they weren’t labelled. Thank you
No Jewellery or Big Bows in School
We are seeing more children coming into school wearing earrings recently. Please ensure that they leave them at home and save them for the weekends or if they are newly pierced cover them with tape as per school policy relating to health and safety. Big hair bows are also lovely and fun but please keep them for the weekend too. Thank you.
Triumphant Year 6 Rugby Team
Well done to the Year 6 children who went to a rugby tournament at The Old Scouts today with Mr Gritten and Miss Crocker. They were jubilant on their return as they are going through to the next round at The Saints and having a tour of the stadium. Good luck for next Thursday!
Carnival Saturday 14th June
Carnival preparations are in full swing, and our float will truly look spectacular next week on Saturday 14th June. Paul from Festival Road is working with Mrs Copeman, the children and staff team to make some stunning decorations. Come along and support us next Saturday as it is a wonderful spectacle and all the children on the floats faces light up when they see you and they will give you a special Bridgewater cheer!
Spanish Week
The Language ambassadors got Spanish week off to a great start with a fun assembly and have been around school inspiring the children all week. Thank you to Mrs D’Agostino and our confident ambassadors.
Early Years
We have some new arrivals in Early Years this week which have caused great excitement and interest. Four duckling eggs have hatched, and the fluffy bundles are full of energy. We are very fortunate to have the expertise of Miss Price who worked in falconry prior to joining Bridgewater as a Teaching Assistant and leading Forest Schools groups. Please be assured that the company that provide them have ethical policies and they will be returned safely and will have a happy future ahead of them.
Have a lovely weekend
Alison Harvey
