A Week of Celebrations

We have had a week of celebrations, first Lunar New Year and then Shrove Tuesday.  The children have enjoyed making dragon puppets, learning how people around the world celebrate the New Year, and looking at different styles of dragon dancing. 

We love cooking in nursery, so the children were eager to cook pancakes for Shrove Tuesday.  We looked at how the ingredients changed state from liquid to solid once cooked and then enjoyed discussing which was our favourite toppings.  Following on from this we set up a little experiment to see if they preferred sweet sugar or sour lemon.
