The new term has seen the start of 'Drawing Club' in the Reception Classes and it has been a huge success with the children. Drawing Club brings the excitement into storytelling as the children learn new vocabulary in an active and engaging way. Inspired by the story, the children are empowered to let their imaginations and creativity flow through their drawings as they are asked 'I wonder..' questions.

"I wonder what the monster looks like?"

"How many eyes will he have?"

"Can he do anything special?"

"I wonder where he lives?"

In our first session we shared the story 'Not Now Bernard' by David McKee. The children were captivated by the story and enjoyed exploring adventurous vocabulary such as 'astonished' and 'fearsome.' The children drew their own monster characters and house settings before adding passcode labels and writing a sentence to describe their character or house.
