Take One Picture

Over the term we have been creating artwork inspired by the painting  'The Finding of Moses' by
Orazio Gentileschi. We carefully studied the painting, taking into consideration the shape and form created by the artist. We discussed what stood out in the painting and the significance of these things. We then decided to focus on the hands of the women in the painting as this was of particular interest. Our sketching skills were developed as we learned to sketch using charcoal and we used our mathematical skills to create optical illusions of hands using Vasarely's artwork as insirpation. Our final piece of artwork was then created using wire sculpture; a difficult process which took lots of resillience!

Helping at Home

In Year 6, the children are set two pieces of home learning each week which should be completed in their homework books.  It will be set on a Thursday and is due in the following Tuesday. In addition to this, please continue to support your child with their reading by regularly reading to them, listening to them read and asking them questions about their reading. Please ensure they log it on Boom reader.

Our Year 6 PE lessons are on a Wednesday and Friday so please ensure your child wears their PE kit in school on this day.
