Science Week

It has been fantastic to see the children buzzing with excitement throughout Science Week. In assembly, Dr Thompson spoke about what the job of a meteorologist involves. Following this, the children were fascinated by our visit from a microbiologist, Mrs Smart who demonstrated just how quickly germs can spread from one person to another. A group of children covered their hands in glitter and carried out everyday tasks including sharing pens and shaking hands. It highlighted just how important it is for everyone to wash their hands thoroughly. On Wednesday, Mrs Smart came back to each class and took a sample from two children’s hands back to the laboratory. We are looking forward to finding out about the germs that have grown!
