What an exciting term it has been, expecially preparing for Christmas!
After our nursery singalong we have been focusing on all things Christmas, alongside our usual learning. We've been to see lots of performances from other year groups, two pantomimes, making cards, clay decorations and lots of other fun activities. The naughty elf also came to see us and he has been up to all sorts of mischief.

To kick things off we had a visit from Reverand Helen came to visit us and told us the story of the first Christmas, she bought some puppets along to explain and the children had lots of questions about it afterwards. We also began to attend some Christmas plays from the other year groups. Well done to everyone at Bridgewater for their wonderful performances.
As the weeks went on we started to prepare our Christmas cards and clay decorations.

For the clay decorations each child rolled out a piece of clay and chose whether they wanted to cut out a bell, Christmas tree, snowflake or reindeer. Once we had done that we used some plants from the garden and pressed it into the clay using the rolling pins. The grown-ups then took them down to the kiln to be fired. After the first firing we used some white glaze to make the plant relief pattern stand out, we sent them to be fired again and then they were completed ready to take home.
For our Christmas cards we started off practicing some of our cutting skills to create triangles to use as Christmas trees. The children then added some glue to their cards and added some glitter to create some snow. We then stuck our Christmas trees on along with some stars for the tops of the trees and added some sliver glitter for a final festive touch. We also started to practice our name writing skills inside the cards, the children were very proud themselves.
To end the week we went to watch Peter Pan! Performed by the wonderful staff, we all enjoyed it and thought it was very funny.
We hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
