Our Nursery reflects the nurturing and supportive learning environment of our current Early Years provision where your child will grow and thrive.

Our Busy Blog

The nursery team consists of Mrs Hollingsworth (Nursery Teacher), Mrs Abraham (Early Years Practitioner), Miss Anglin (Early Years Teaching Assistant) and Miss Essen (Early Years Practitioner). All members of the team work hard to offer a nurturing and supportive learning environment for the children to thrive and grow. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum with an emphasis on promoting the characteristics of effective learning. This approach fosters a love of learning and provides challenge linked closely to developmentally age appropriate experience.  We strive to create an environment where the children feel confident to explore and discover new things. As a Nursery, we understand that all children are unique and understand the importance of following their individual interests.

Run run as fast as you can, you cant catch me I'm the...

This week has flown by and we have been really busy again having lots of fun in the nursery.

We have been listening to the story 'The Gingerbread Man' and talking about the main characters and whether they are good or bad characters. We have explored why we think this and have had fun joining in with the storytelling, shouting out 'Run Run as fast as you can, you can't catch me I'm the gingerbread man' many times.
We took the opportunity to bake and decorate gingerbread men in the nursery, after listening to the story which went down well with all of us.

We have had fun playing with the farm yard inside and of course with the dinosaurs - we are a little dinosaur crazy in nursery.

Despite drizzly weather we have had a lot of fun outside. The wendy house has been so many things over the week, from our hiding place during hide and seek, our home while playing in the mud kitchen, our den to escape the dinosaurs and monsters and then part of our construction as we took hammers and saws (pretend) to it.
We took the ICT bug outside and explored how to control him through the puddles and around our own assault course, having lots of fun crashing in to things.
The children have been working hard on their phonics sounds this week and we have continued to have explore environmental sounds with our sound lotto game.
