Dear Parents
We are officially in the Christmas Zone and preparing special things for you with a sprinkling of glitter across the school and the joyful sound of carols and Christmas songs.
Local Authority Parking Initiative on Ellis Way
Cllr Kilbride called in to school to say that West Northants Council (WNC) are carrying out a consultation for enforcement cameras around town and they are going to put a school street camera in Ellis Way.
The proposal says:
A school street camera aims to reduce vehicles near school gates at drop-off and pick-up times to create a safer and healthier environment for children and families. These schemes reduce traffic congestion and air pollution, decrease road danger, and encourage walking, cycling, and other active forms of travel to and from school.
Ellis Way, on approach to Bridgewater Primary School, is being proposed as the test site for School Street enforcement. This initiative aims to improve child safety around the school during drop-off and pick-up times, and it is hoped that the scheme will encourage active travel, promoting physical health for both pupils and parent.

Year 3 and Year 4 Sports
Some Year 3 and Year 4 set off to Benham this week with Mrs Hinde and Mrs England and took part in a multi school athletics competition. The staff said they were brilliant with the girls winning 3 out of 4 races and the boys came second in two races out of about 14 schools. Well done, Bridgewater, what a strong team!

Culture Day Assembly
We were very impressed with the Language Ambassadors, supported by Mrs D’Agostino, who looked splendid wearing their national dress and outfits signifying their cultural identity. They prepared an engaging assembly for the children and are learning some German to teach to the children around the school. It emphasised the richness of our community and the assembly offered a meaningful insight into the experiences and heritage of others.
Chronicle and Echo
It was lovely to see our new intake looking smart and happy in their pictures in the Chronicle and Echo last week alongside many other schools in the town. They were in the 20th November 2025 edition.
Have a lovely weekend
Alison Harvey
