Cross-Country Competition

This week, over 20 children from Years 4, 5 and 6 represented Bridgewater at the annual Cross-Country competition held at Abington Park. Every runner demonstrated fantastic determination, resilience and teamwork throughout the event.

The children were a real credit to our school community, cheering one another on and giving their very best in every race. We are incredibly proud of their effort and sportsmanship, and we look forward to finding out where they placed and whether we have any county finalists among them!

Well done to all of our runners!

Considerate Parking

A local resident has called us because they are very frustrated that cars park opposite their driveway where the road is narrow and they struggle to get off the drive. This is a particular problem in Ellis Way, Trinity Road and Holte End. Please park with respect to our local residents at all times. Thank you to those who park at a safe distance and take a short walk into school.

Remembrance

The children were excited to welcome Celia and the residents of the local care home St Christopher’s, again this week, to glaze their poppies. They had made them a couple of week’s ago and they had been fired and ready for the glazing process. The children and residents concentrated hard and they have gone back in for firing again, ready for delivery to the care home by some children on Monday in time for Remembrance Day. There are poppies everywhere in school and some beautiful displays that you can see next week on parents evening.

Parents Evenings

We look forward to seeing you at the Parents Evenings next Monday and Wednesday evening.  This one is for the parents only as parent surveys had requested that the children remain at home for this one then in the Spring the children will be part of the evening sharing their learning with you. You will get a chance to have a look at some of their learning to date.

SATs Information Evening

On Tuesday, the Year 6 team are running a short SATs Information Evening where they will share information about the process at 3.30pm and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions.

New Intake Places

We have been showing groups of New Intake Parents around school this term who often ask if we are oversubscribed. I would encourage people to apply because Northampton currently has a low birth rate and last year we were significantly undersubscribed alongside many other schools in Northampton.

Have a lovely weekend
