Dear Parents
Congratulations New School Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister!
Congratulations to Louis on being elected Prime Minister and Harrison on becoming Deputy Prime Minister. Their appointments were announced in assembly this morning, and the spontaneous cheer of support was lovely.
The boys are excited to lead the School Council, represent the views of the children, and help make positive changes across the school. They have already shared ideas for making sure there are enough bins and encouraging children to look after their belongings and not leave jumpers on the field at lunchtimes. They have also completed their first official duty, speaking to prospective parents about life at Bridgewater. They represented the school brilliantly. Congratulations to both boys; we know they will be outstanding role models and ambassadors. Thank you also to Mrs Range for supporting and guiding the School Council.
Well Done Eesa’s Family
We are delighted to share some wonderful news from one of our school families. A parent entered Bridgewater into a community competition run by Tonies, following discussions with Mrs Wise about the ‘Toniebox’ already used in the classroom. We are thrilled that Bridgewater has been selected as one of the winning schools and will receive a donation of Tonie characters to support children's learning and enjoyment.
Library Assembly
Thank you to Michael who came from Weston Favell Library to our assembly organised by Mr Green (Reading Lead) this week to celebrate Bridgewater’s success in the Summer Reading Challenge. A big well done to all the children who received their certificates in the assembly demonstrating their enjoyment of reading.
Change Sings
Visitors often comment on the standard of displays and artwork around the school, where the children’s work dances off the walls.
I can’t walk down the corridor now without finding something new to admire on the brand new ‘Change Sings’ display. It’s a fantastic whole school display reflecting ‘Unity and Hope’ in our community; thank you Miss Barre (Diversity Team Lead), Miss Holmes (English Lead) and Ms Arnold, Mrs Hinde and Mrs Parker (art technicians) as well as all the teachers for inspiring such depth of learning and powerful reflection, ensuring that each and every child achieves their best and can be so proud of their efforts. Very well-done children, you are all achieving such high standards and producing eye catching work. 😊
Year 1 Phonics Team
Thank you to the Year 1 team for their Parent Information Evening this week. It was well attended and we were able to share lots of useful information and handouts.
Keep doing what your doing, read as much as you can with the children, little and often every day, and it provides them with a great foundation for their reading and writing in the future.
Reception Phonics Evening Next Thursday
It is the Reception classes Phonics Information Evening next Thursday at 5.45pm.
Harvest Collection
Thank you for your generous Harvest donations so far. Next week is the final week for contributions, after which they will be taken to St James by Mrs G Douglas and shared across the community. Your kindness will help support local people and make a real difference.
Year 4 Harvest Production Next Week
We have been hearing snippets of the Year 4 Harvest Production and are looking forward to their performances to their parents next week at 2.15pm on Thursday and 9.20am on Friday morning.
Have a lovely weekend
Alison Harvey
