Reception Classes
We are looking forward to welcoming, all our Reception children into school next week when drop off is between 8.45am and 9am. The children will be doing their very first PE lesson on Friday when we would like them to come into school dressed in their PE kit, which they will stay in all day. They will be taught to change themselves in the summer term ready for Year 1. It saves a big chunk of time in the day in Early Years to do other fun learning! 😊
Coffee Morning
Once you’ve waved your little ones off in Reception, why not pop into the Main Hall and join us for a coffee and a chat? Please don’t be shy, come along and say hello! There will be lots of other Reception parents there, as well as key members of staff and our lovely Friends Association, who have organised the morning especially for you. It’s a great chance to meet some new faces and get to know our school community.
Parking around Bridgewater
We encourage families to walk into school where they can and if you need to come in the car, to park at a distance and walk in. We are fortunate that there is plenty of parking along Abington Park Crescent. This helps the children keep fit and active alongside reducing traffic congestion in the area. We ask everyone to park safely, legally and considerately and show respect to our very patient, local residents. Please help us keep everyone safe by never parking across driveways, where access may be blocked, on corners, where parking can be dangerous, or on pavements, where pushchairs and wheelchairs may be obstructed. We ask people to only park on the school side of Milverton Crescent to maintain access and need to bear in mind that the emergency services require clear access at all times.
Early Morning Behaviour
We have spoken to the Upper Phase children about dangerous play before school in the central turning circle area, where they were jumping across the logs and falling near to the road. All children must sit and wait quietly for their friends and be good role models to the younger children. As soon as the gates open, they need to come into the school grounds. Could you reiterate this message to any of the older children who are dropped off early please.
Exciting News!
The planning permission has come through for the new nursery building and Steve and the team will commence work next week. He has been working closely with us through the paperwork this week including risk assessments.
On Monday you will start to see the Heras fencing go up at off peak times with privacy screening. Then they will disconnect the old services and gradually take down the old building.
We want to thank the Abington Vale Playgroup for their patience and support. We will make sure that any disruption is kept to a minimum.
