Dear Parents
Nursery Singalong
We started the week with a lovely Nursery singalong with the children all dressed in their festive attire and singing beautifully. Well done to Mrs Gilkes and the team; the children were delightful.
Family Breakfasts
Family Breakfasts were introduced to give our community a calm, positive start to the day and an opportunity for families to spend time together talking, playing quiet games, reading, and relaxing before the start of the day. We’d like to preserve that atmosphere for everyone.
Recently, some breakfasts have been disrupted by a few children running around, climbing on the stage or PE equipment, and not remaining with their adults. To ensure Family Breakfasts remain enjoyable and safe for all, we ask that from next week:
- Please bring a quiet activity, board game, or book to enjoy together.
- Children must stay with their family or friends throughout the session.
- If a child becomes dysregulated, please take them outside for a moment to help them settle before returning.
- No running.
- No climbing on the stage or any apparatus.
- Please speak respectfully with school staff, we are there to help keep everyone safe and have an enjoyable experience.
We appreciate your support in keeping Family Breakfasts a welcoming and positive experience for all families.
Slippery Ice
Thank you to the parents who mentioned the icy conditions this morning. Jordan gritted the paths early, and again once it was light, but some areas may still remain slippery in very cold weather. Please take extra care when walking around the site and consider wearing flat shoes with good grip on icy days.
Computing Cluster Event
As part of the Enthusiastic Learners Cluster project, a small group of children from Years 4, 5 & 6 went to Vernon Terrace yesterday. The session focussed on Computing gave the children the opportunity to participate in an engaging and enriching learning experience with children from other schools.
School Coats
Several children came to school without coats on Thursday when it rained relentlessly all day. The children in the Inspire building need to walk outdoors to get to the main hall. Please ensure they bring a warm waterproof coat to school.
Carols in the Hall
This was a lovely event where the choir led us all through a range of traditional Carols accompanied by Mr Lagdon on the trombone. The lights were dimmed and the tree and lanterns twinkled in the dark. Thank you to Miss Williams and Mrs Range who have worked with the choir bringing them to a high standard - they will be performing again at the Christmas Fair tonight!
Christmas Fair
We look forward to seeing you all at the Christmas Fair this evening organised by our dedicated and hard-working group of Friends. Don’t miss all the games, stalls and our special Christmas visitor.
Have a great weekend
Alison Harvey
